Action Group is a conglomerate of four Okanagan companies that deal in highly skilled, complex and sometimes dangerous operations related to arboriculture, crane lifting, traffic management and/or marine transport. The four companies became united under the Action Group name in 2025 to offer integrated services, greatly streamlining our coordination and efficacy.
The result is a speedier, more cost-effective, one-stop service, without the many head-aches that is often the case in big, complex projects. We are very good at the risky tasks we do, and we never forget why we do it. We are a proud Kelowna based company and are committed to delivering services that keep our communities safe, our ecosystems thriving, and our infrastructure projects moving forward.
Action Group began with Action Tree Services in 1999. At the time we employed one worker and together we went about the business of building Action Tree into one of the most respected tree service and tree removal companies in the Okanagan. As the years passed, we identified other opportunities in the Central Okanagan and Okanagan marketplace and launched new enterprises: Action Crane Services, Action Marine (hauling) Services and what has now been renamed Action Traffic Management. While each of these companies were fully separate to start, the complex projects we are involved with often require the services of two or more of our companies.
For example, we are the Okanagan’s only crane-assisted tree removal specialists; we combine ISA-certified arborists with a fleet of cranes and bucket trucks to handle technically complex removals. Our traffic management team is often employed in such cases to manage traffic flow and ensure safety on the roads bordering the work site. On every job, safety is a priority and co-ordinated, highly organized services provide the foundation to a safe worksite.
Every day, our Action Group employees carry out high-risk duties as part of the job. In spite of the danger, there has been zero lost time due to workplace injury over the past 26+ years. We have always placed a premium value on ensuring all staff are regularly trained and certified and we believe that is reflected in our safety record. Having the right equipment for the difficult job we do is critical for safety. Action Group owns and operates a full fleet of cranes and bucket trucks, ranging from 28 ton to 110 ton, 200 foot crane. Our advanced equipment allows us to safely manage even the most complex and high risk removals with a high level of efficiency and with low risk to property and personnel. Positioning an arborist in a tree with the crane is significantly safer than having them climb a tree, especially one in a state of decay. This approach not only reduces the risk associated with unstable or compromised trees but also saves time for the client.
Safety is dependent on our equipment functioning at peak performance. Part of our safety protocol is to ensure that all our equipment is well maintained and regularly inspected. Given the immense weight that cranes, for example, lift and move, even a minor malfunction can lead to catastrophic outcomes. We take maintenance very seriously.
