THE ACTION GROUP OF COMPANIES
Our work can be dangerous. Even small mishaps or oversights can quickly escalate into a disastrous situation, potentially putting our crew, the public and surrounding infrastructure and buildings in danger. We know that and are proud of our impeccable work safety record. Our teams have worked together for many years, care for each other and our community, and make certain that safety is the number one consideration on the job site.
Every crew member is highly trained, and appropriately certified as well as being conscientious, focused and alert whenever they are at work. Action Group is fully certified and insured against accident or injury.
That being said, the work being done at each of our four companies carries its own risks as well as procedures to mitigate them. We work closely with WorkSafeBC to adhere to regulations and to continually improve our safety procedures in our organization and the industries in which we work.

ACTION TREE SAFETY
At Action Tree, we understand the safety hazards created by dangerous trees and are fully trained in how to remove such trees in the safest manner possible. We have over a quarter of a century’s experience dealing with dangerous trees with zero lost time due to workplace injury. Successfully felling hazardous trees requires proper equipment, safety gear, training, and teamwork.
Action Tree has the needed machinery, training, and tools to safely and accurately cut down any tree that needs to be removed. We know the angles to cut tree trunks to direct the fall in the desired location while avoiding other trees and branches. Falling limbs around power lines greatly adds to the complexity and danger of tree removal.
Action Tree Service is the only Canadian company permitted to lift an Arborist into a tree using a crane. We’ve proven that using a crane in this way is a much better way to guarantee the safety of our employees. Because Action Tree are leaders in the arboriculture industry, we have an ongoing relationship with WorkSafe BC. Through this partnership procedures for this safe work process are reviewed and re-written.
With so many risks involved, it is best to leave tree removal to the pros. DIY Tree removal can unintentionally and unnecessarily cost lives, especially when dealing with a dangerous tree. Our team will quickly remove the hazard while avoiding power lines, buildings, and property whenever possible.

Action Traffic Safety
Traffic control is all about safety. It is the very reason our profession exists. In confusing traffic situations, we restore order, providing clear guidance by managing traffic flow. Confusion creates the conditions where accidents are more likely to happen. Any time, whether planned or unexpected, there are disruptions in the usual traffic situation, you will see traffic control persons and measures. Since traffic control is so critical for road safety, we offer a 24 hour emergency service, in collaboration with emergency services such as the police and fire departments.
Because of the high degree of responsibility for ensuring safety, WorkSafeBC demands Traffic Control Persons (TCP) be thoroughly trained and reach BC’s high standards to attain certification. TCP must be re-certified every 3 years in BC. Training programs cover aspects of traffic control such as identifying hazards and safety procedures, risk assessment, traffic management techniques, communication skills, equipment operation and understanding relevant legislation regarding traffic control. In British Columbia there are strict regulations governing traffic control.

Procedures & Certified Equipment Operators
Working with heavy equipment, or more specifically, performing crane lifts, can be hazardous. Properly trained and experienced people, along with safe and reliable equipment, and a good plan are essential to mitigate the risks involved. Every operation that uses a crane must have a lift plan that includes a comprehensive hazard assessment. The hazard assessment must cover all pre-operational, operational, and post-operational dangers, as well as related risk controls. Learn more about life planning.

Operator certification and equipment inspections play an important part in ensuring that our equipment and our people are qualified to perform their tasks safely. It is through conformance to the safety regulations that we are able to confirm that our people and our equipment are up to the task. At Action Crane, we place great importance and confidence in conforming to the occupational health and safety regulations.

Action Marine Safety
Boat hauling, especially if the boat is large, requires a good amount of know-how and experience as well as the proper setup and equipment to do it safely and efficiently. Improper loading or overloading or a lack of attention to safety equipment or just plain driving inexperience at towing a trailer, can lead to road accidents, risking your boat’s safety as well as the lives of others on the road. In short, boat hauling is not always a simple task and is honestly not something to be taken lightly.
In BC the Motor Vehicle Act regulates boat hauling issues such as maximum weight and dimensions, proper hitching hardware, safety equipment like chains and lights as well as brake requirements. Depending on the weight of the trailer, an upgraded driving license may also be required. Action Marine’s professionals are fully trained in their area of expertise and are always cognizant of the dangers inherent in boat hauling. They always pay the utmost attention to safety procedures and the rules regulating boat transport.
